My only real complaint about this show is Terry. Now, Maggie Lawson is doing a great job. She has a knack for understated humor and realistic delivery. Her straight-man plays well off of her eccentric British sidekick. However, Terry the character is just . . . dull. She does a perfectly adequate job of driving the plot forward, but the writers are lazy with her. She doesn't have any distinct personality traits other than frustration with assholes (her dad and Dick, for starters).
The supporting cast is funny and provides great stories, but I wonder at the sustainability of a sitcom without the driving force of a connection with the main character. Give me a good, Terry-centric episode, and maybe that'll change. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying the hijinks.
